When I create music together with other people (Ufomammut for example), I usually play bass, so it is normal for me to use that instrument for composition.
On the contrary, when I create for The Mon or when I write riffs or other “solo stuff”, I use different instruments, usually I play guitar.
It is easier to understand how a song can render if played on a 6-string … sometimes some riffs that will then become “big and heavy” are born on an acoustic guitar.
I think I have a fair amount of imagination to hear distorted riffs playing them on an acoustic guitar.
Sometimes I compose with synths, to find slightly different paths, maybe I start from an environment that I build with the idea of filling, stratifying a little at a time.
Once composed, I try to dedicate myself to my favorite instrument, which is basically the bass, creating the textures and the way of playing the piece in order to give the structure as much weight as possible.

Quando creo musica insieme ad altri (Ufomammut ad esempio), suono solitamente il basso, quindi è normale che usi quello strumento per la composizione.
AL contrario, quando creo per The Mon o quando scrivo riff o altro “in solitaria”, uso strumenti differenti, solitamente la chitarra.
E’ più facile capire come può rendere un brano se suonato con una 6 corde… a volte alcuni riff che poi diventeranno “grossi e pesanti”, nascono su una chitarra acustica.
Credo di avere una buona dose di immaginazione, per sentire riff distorti suonandoli su una chitarra acustica.
A volte compongo coi synth, per trovare strade un po’ differenti, magari parto da un ambiente che costruisco con l’idea di riempire, stratificare un po’ alla volta.
Una volta composto, cerco di dedicarmi al mio strumento preferito, che è fondamentalmente il basso, creando le tramature e il modo di suonare il pezzo in modo da dare alla struttura, il peso maggiore possibile.
