I usually play downtuned in B, to have more low frequencies.
My first bass was a 5 string, so I never knew what it could have been playing with a “thinner” string gauge and a normal tuning.
My strings are usually 130-105-90-65
I usually play on the first string a lot because I have always noticed a certain difference in sound between the first and the second.
If I have to do a riff, then, I try to stay on the 130.
The brand certainly matters, but it is not essential.
And believe it or not … I have repeatedly broken the big string … haha

Da sempre, per avere la possibilità di avere più basse frequenze.

Sono solito usare molto la prima corda perché ho sempre notato una certa differenza di suono tra la prima e la seconda.
Se devo fare un riff, quindi, cerco di rimanere sul 130.
La marca conta certamente, ma non è fondamentale.
E che ci crediate o no… mi è capitato più volte di rompere la corda grossa… ahah
